Interacting with your Customers Online

It’s usually a given that any business wants to offer their products and services online to their customers.

What’s not so well known is that for every 100 customers that visit your website, on average only 1 of them completes any business online business goal.

This means if your only online goal is to sell widgets online, then you’re missing 99 other opportunities to interact with customers on their first visit that could lead to them buying widgets from you later.

Having a quick think about other things you could interact with your customers, might lead to some of the following options:

  • Follow you on Social Media
  • Fill in a contact form
  • Sign up to a mailing list
  • Watch a video
  • Leave a comment on a blog

Then, depending on the nature of the business, as you start to look further, you’ll find all kinds of other opportunities to interact.  These might be small, but they leave your company’s name in the minds of your customers and extend the opportunity for you to interact with them rather than than clicking on to the next site.

These might include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Request a call back
  • Find a pre-emptive answer to a frequently asked question
  • Start an instant chat
  • Get an instant quote
  • Download a PDF with valuable business information
  • Request a sample of your products or service
  • Schedule an appointment with you

Or any one of countless other interactions between suppliers and customers.

An important part of our business process when dealing with new clients is what we call “discovery” – to help understand what your business goals are and what the goals of your customers are – regardless of the technology – to understand what makes your business tick first, and then offer solutions to extend that online.

Don’t get us wrong – we’ve get decades of experience in building great websites – but our initial focus is always on you and your customers, then really great websites follow naturally!

This way of thinking about what matters most to your business first is what makes Urban Haze stand apart from other agencies.
